About Balanced Body Ayurveda

Hello and Welcome!

I’m Cathy

I am an Ayurvedic practitioner, clinical herbalist, Panchakarma and Marma therapy specialist, chef, wellness educator, and the founder of Balanced Body Ayurveda.

While I work with clients experiencing a wide range of health concerns, my practice has a particular focus on digestive, reproductive, and nervous system imbalances. Having personally navigated chronic health challenges, I deeply understand the frustration of feeling dismissed by conventional medicine or overwhelmed by the process of healing on your own.

Through years of study in Ayurveda, herbalism, and the use of food as medicine, as well as my own trial and error, I have gathered tools that support the body in overcoming long-standing imbalances.

At Balanced Body Ayurveda, we honor the uniqueness of every individual. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan to help restore your natural state of balance, using diet, lifestyle practices, and herbal support as our foundation.

A vital yet often overlooked aspect of healing is reconnecting with the rhythms of nature. When I began aligning my own life with these natural cycles, I experienced profound shifts in my energy, immunity, and digestion. At Balanced Body Ayurveda, we’re here to guide you in living more harmoniously with the seasons and with your own true nature by discovering what makes you uniquely YOU.

Whether you are looking for a preventative approach to supporting the body or suffer from chronic imbalances or stubborn health issues that haven’t responded to diet or conventional treatment, I invite you to book a one on one Ayurvedic health consultation.

The human body has the amazing capacity to heal, when you have the knowledge to give it the right tools.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient holistic practice that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It focuses on prevention of imbalance and the manifestation of health by creating balance in the body on a physical, emotional and physical level. Knowledge of Ayurveda allows one to create balance of the mind, body and spirit according to one’s unique constitution. Many factors, both internal and external, can disrupt this natural balance, which leads to disease in the body. The teachings of Ayurveda helps us to gain a greater understanding of the factors that disrupt this natural balance. Once these factors are understood, we can eliminate or minimize the causes of imbalance, bringing the body back to a state of health.

Ayurveda uses several techniques to assess the health of the individual by evaluating the signs and symptoms of discomfort and their relation to the origin of the imbalance. This is done through questioning, observation and physical examination. There is no “one size fits all” approach to healing in Ayurveda, rather we look at your unique mind-body type, diet and surrounding environment to assess your needs and identify what is needed to regain health and vitality.

Once an assessment has been made, you will be educated on specific dietary and lifestyle practices including movement, breathwork, self massage, yoga, meditation, and seasonal cleansing to help bring the body back into balance.. Herbs are often recommended in conjunction with dietary and lifestyle modification to aid in the healing process. Ayurveda helps to ease discomfort and correct imbalance by addressing the root cause. The practices of Ayurveda are designed to strengthen your body, ease discomfort and promote optimum health by addressing the root causes of imbalance.
